Even though it only had 50,000 miles it seemed to use oil. At least a couple of quarts per 3,000 miles. But no smoke. Go figure. Auto climate control also had problems. Rode worse than previous Grand Marquis even through I had new original equipment shocks installed

The Marquis is a large, safe car that has plenty of power and handles nicely. This is my second one and I will probably trade for a third.

In 1995 I bought a brand new Towncar.... It had everything... Move over Towncar there is a new kid in town... I just bought a Grand marquise 1999 LS ... All I can say is wow... It has more feature than the towncar had and I bought the car with 11000 miles on it... It still smells new...... I have been searching for this car and now I have it.. Very happy

This car has been a dream. 3 round trips from AZ to CO by myself were in total comfort. Mechanically there have been no problems. Regular maint. is all that has been necessary.

Car owned by senior female, ( kept in garage) and in pristine condition. My concern is depreciation because of age, not condition of vehicle. Convenience of entering the vehicle, room, trunk space, comfort, ease of driving and service are the reasons I have chosen a Mercury LS for my last 3 cars. Safety, of course, is also a major issue. I like the rear-wheel drive feature.

i have had my mercury for 2 yrs. Ive had the fuel pump go out on it twice. For those of you who have to change the pump, change your fuel pressure regulator that caused the pump to over work. it a great highway car. but, the mpg is poor. Im getting a Buick. i love mercurys. they have poor mpg. the 3.8 n the buick has a intake manifold problem. ive changed it in my merc,

i have changed the intake fuel pump. but, yesterday i changed the front shocks and the alternator. it was the one the car came with 11 years ago. thats a long time. i recommend the monroe sencra-trac on the front and back. dont buy a alternator from autozone they dont know a damn thing. had to take the alternator back the new 1. had to replace it. but the car rides damn good, has 305 hp, and really good mpg. when it is time to get another car, no doubt MERCURY GRAND MARQUIS! Autozone awful!

  • Great car for the money - 1999 Mercury Grand Marquis

This has been a great car. I bought it used with about 40000 miles on it and now I have about 100000 miles. While it is not an exciting car to drive it has proved to be very reliable, it uses no oil between changes, handles very well for a vehicle of its size. I commute about 20 miles to work about 75% interstate highway and I am averaging about 20 mpg, on long highway runs I have gotten as high as 26 mpg, but can usually count on about 24 mpg. If hope to keep this car another 10 years and when the time comes find another slightly used one.
